Rachel Zummo is a Supervising Attorney at CDEL. She works with the Early Resolution Program to provide advice to litigants facing eviction or consumer issues. Prior to this role, Rachel was a Staff Attorney focusing on clients needing extended representation in eviction court, particularly those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Rachel first joined CDEL in 2023.
Before joining CDEL, Rachel worked at a fair housing agency serving Chicago’s south suburbs. She also worked as a tenants’ attorney at Disability Rights Texas and a disaster recovery attorney at Texas RioGrande Legal Aid, where she received an Equal Justice Works Disaster Recovery Corps Fellowship.
Rachel earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law in 2016. As a law student, she served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Texas International Law Journal and was an active member of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Government and Rhetoric from the University of Texas at Austin in 2012.
