CDEL is excited to announce its Strategic Plan! In October of 2022, over forty-five CDEL stakeholders gathered for a summit to chart CDEL's path into the future. This group included CDEL Governing Board members, Young Professionals Board members, CDEL staff, clients, community partners, and volunteers.
Implementing this plan requires the participation of all of our stakeholders. We invite all of you to join us as we put our Strategic Plan into action. Learn more about CDEL's Strategic Plan at our website. |

Chicago Tribune Features Cook County's Early Resolution Program |
|
|
The front page of today's Chicago Tribune features the Cook County Legal Aid for Housing and Debt’s (CCLAHD) Cook County Early Resolution Program (ERP). CDEL is one of a number of legal aid organizations that help facilitate ERP. The program was started during the COVID-19 pandemic and is in-part designed to help people avoid eviction.
CDEL's client, Davey Vacek, is quoted regarding his experience: "I couldn’t imagine navigating all of that without (legal) help,” said Vacek, who had not faced eviction until the pandemic. “I can speak a few languages, but legalese is not one of them.”
CDEL is glad to have the work of such an integral program in our community showcased. Read more about ERP and the impact it has made in our community: |
