Lena Gerstle is CDEL’s Community Outreach and Volunteer Mobilization AmeriCorps VISTA. In this role, Lena maintains and develops relationships with community organizations and CDEL volunteers. She also contributes to CDEL’s outreach efforts by tabling at community events and giving presentations about CDEL and its work. She joined CDEL in November 2024.

Lena earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Kalamazoo College in 2022. While in college, she worked in environmental justice and supported initiatives to combat food waste. After graduating college, she taught English to children and adults in Spain for two years.
