CDEL's Staff Join Governing Board and YPB for Holiday Mixer |
Earlier this week, CDEL's Governing Board and Young Professionals Board met for their final meetings of the year. Afterwards, members of CDEL staff came together to celebrate another successful CDEL year with Governing Board and YPB members for a holiday mixer.
CDEL could not do what it does without the dedication and support of our Governing Board and Young Professionals Board members.
Thank you to CDEL Board Member Lucy Park and Perkins Coie LLP for hosting such a wonderful evening! |

Benjamin Meyer is the Operations Manager for CDEL. As Operations Manager, Benjamin serves as the office manager and works in collaboration with the Legal Director and Executive Director on information technology, human resources, finance, and other administrative matters.
Benjamin began his legal career as a solo practice attorney and worked for seven years assisting clients with litigation in many different areas of law including civil rights, foreclosure defense, probate, divorce, traffic, criminal, small claims, personal injury, and property tax. After concluding his litigation career, Benjamin served as the Operations Manager for First Defense Legal Aid and later, the Westside Justice Center. Benjamin attended DePaul University as an undergraduate and earned a B.A. in Political Science. He then earned his Juris Doctor degree from DePaul University.
Benjamin on why he is excited to join CDEL: "I feel drawn to CDEL's work because I believe that we are collectively responsible for creating the society we want to live in. Part of our work must include creating space around the table for people who have been traditionally left out. This means creating space for all seniors and persons with disabilities."

Thank you to everyone who supported CDEL for Giving Tuesday. This year, we were able to raise over $6,000 for CDEL and its programs. Thank you for following the story of CDEL Client Alice who because of CDEL, was able to successfully move out into a safe, clean, and affordable new place to live.
